O segundo trimestre é considerado como o mais estável em termos psicologicos, e ocorre a percepção dos movimentos do feto no útero, e a mãe compreende a autonomia do feto. O terceiro trimestre caracteriza-se pela satisfação do término de uma gestação bem sucedida e preocupações em relação ao parto (Colman e Colman, 1994).

A idade da gestante e a qualidade das fibras de colagéno da pele podem interferir nesse processo. Além disso ocorre um incremento da melanina (substância que dá cor à pele) e assim, aumento da pigmentação em algumas regiões. Por isso, a auréola e a linha alba ( linha vertical por debaixo do umbigo) escurecem. Em algumas mulheres podem surgir manchas no rosto (melasma) que se intensificam com a exposição solar. As unhas e o cabelo podem ficar mais frágeis e quebradiças.

2) Beba bastante água.

É preciso classificar as estrias quanto ao seu estado inflamatório:

1) Vermelhas: são aquelas de surgimento mais recente, tem essa coloração devido ao rompimento sanguíneo. Os tratamentoos iniciados nessa fase tem melhor resultado, pois as células continuam vivas e com maior capacidade regenerativa.
